Announcements January 27th, 2014

  • Wednesday Night Class, January 29th, 2014 at 6:00pm at the  Scotts Valley Dog Park (361 Kings Village Rd. Scotts Valley, CA 95066).  Cost is $25.
  • Wednesday Night Movie Social January, 29th at 7:30 at The Scotts Valley Cinema.  Come join us to watch ‘Shadow Rcruit’ !  We will go straight to the theater following training.  Look forward to seeing you there (No Dogs Allowed in the theater :).
  • Sunday, January 26th, 2014 Class at 1:00pm – at the Santa Cruz Light House (701 W Cliff Drive, Santa Cruz).  Please be sure to come early to park.  We will meet at the Light House at 1:00pm.  Cost is $25 ($20 Members)
  • New Obedience Classes start  Saturday, February 1st, 2014. Please view our calendar for class times. If you would like to sign up for class, please email us at info@k9clinic.com or call (831)684.0861.  Please be sure to call if there is questionable weather!

    Homework for Group Classes!

    Basic Class:

    Remember to practice only 10-15 min per session, 1-2 times per day.   Heel with turns

    • Heeling: No more pulling, sniffing while heeling.  Every time you stop walking, they should sit (Pop up on the head, push down on their bottom)
    • Heeling with turns (Right, Left, Right about, Left about, Turn into)-remember to walk straight!
    • Start your Down Stays.  Remember to start small and do circles.

    ***Remember do not correct unless you can follow through, and 0 Tolerance***

    Intermediate Class:

    Practice 10-15 min per session, 1-2 times per day

    • Continue practicing your down stays, start increasing, time, distance and distractions
    • If they break the down, Long Dark Road
    • Have fun with your dogs and try some obstacles on your walk-Remember, SAFETY is the number 1 rule!
